Gacha checks for shiny at 1/100 when the selected Pokémon has a shiny sprite. If that shiny is already owned, the game can choose a missing shiny in the same rarity pool; if none remain it becomes normal.
What to do
- Select the banner and inspect shiny sprite availability.
- Record owned shiny variants separately from normal ownership.
- Use the source-wide shiny model only for eligible independent checks.
- For a named target include rarity, pool size and existing collection.
- After a shiny pull verify both shiny and normal ownership.
Numbers & conditions
For eligible independent 1% checks, 100 checks yield about 63.4% chance of at least one success. That is a generated shiny-event model, not a universal probability of a particular missing Pokémon.
Common mistakes
The nominal 1% does not override sprite eligibility or rerouting. Do not mix the 1/4096 wild rate or 1/512 rift rate into gacha.
